National Craft Month - Petal Palette

I am excited to be a part of the National Craft Month blog hop. I am sure there are going to be some amazing projects for you to C.A.S.E. (Copy And Stamp Everything). I love to do this and often feature CASE ideas here on my blog. As I crafter I like to recreate when I find something I like.  If I really like it, I like to create it more than once.  So today I am asking this question;

Why Start Over?

When I copy something, like this card idea in a Stampin’ Up! 2018 Occasions Catalog, page 12, I often copy it exactly and other times I change it a bit. Each new CASE-ing seems to lead to a new idea.  I have 5 projects that came from this one idea!

For the below project I changed the Textured Impression Embossing Folder (TIEF) from the Scattered Sequins Dynamic TIEF for the Petal Pair TIEF.  I used ribbon in place of DSP, changed the sentiment, and replaced the numbers with the ribbon die from the Sweet Cake Framelits.

As you can see the design is similar, but different.    I liked this design so much that I CASE’d my ‘new-original’ design using different colors. Again, similar but different.

Seeing it completed on Whisper White I thought it would make a pretty card for a wedding, so I recreated it again.  This time I turned the design from landscape to portrait.  I used the other folder in the Petal Pair TIEF set.  I stamped the cake in VersaMark and embossed it and the sentiment (from Amazing You - a Sale-a-bration stamp set) in Silver.

I liked the wedding card design and wanted to change it back to birthday but different from the previous projects.  After embossing with the TIEF I sponged on color and added the sentiment (I used scotch tape to cover the ‘spike’ in the sentiment before inking the stamp – remember to remove the tape).  I colored the Silver Metallic-Edge Ribbon by pulling it through the ink pad (as I’ve shown in previous posts).  The flower bouquet (from the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit) is raised up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

After these cards, I wanted to use the matching Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper (S-DSP) because it’s so pretty.  After cutting a piece to mat on the card front, I used the TIEF a few times to completely fill the S-DSP with extra texture.  I then ‘fussy cut’ the cake to add to the center...

….and even the inside.
Now I don’t like fussy cutting any more than the average crafter, but sometimes I just want something that I can’t stamp or cut out with the Big Shot or a punch.  The little cakes from S-DSP had to be used.  I love finding more ways to use DSP, don’t you?

I love the Sweet Soiree Suite so much that I used it for my first Theme Week ever!  You can see 6 days of ideas on this blog from January 8, through January 13, 2018.  Just remember to come back here to check out the other bloggers below who are hopping today!

Until Next time . . .
                   Hugs, Karie B.
